Tekirdağ Süleymanpaşa Değirmenaltı Mosque

Tekirdağ Süleymanpaşa Değirmenaltı Mosque is a mosque in Değirmenaltı Neighborhood of Süleymanpaşa, the central district of Tekirdağ Province, Turkey. The mosque was built in the late 19th century. The mosque, which reflects the Ottoman classical style in terms of its architectural features, has a square plan and a single dome. Its dome sits on an octagonal pulley. Its mihrab and pulpit are made of marble. The minaret of the mosque is located in the northwest corner of the mosque. The base of the minaret is square, the body is cylindrical, and the gable is octagonal. The cone at the top of the minaret is gilded with gold. The interior of the mosque is simply decorated. Qur'anic verses and hadiths are written on the walls. There is also a fountain in the courtyard of the mosque. The mosque is one of the oldest and largest mosques in Tekirdağ. The mosque was renovated in 2012. The mosque is used for both worship and cultural purposes. The mosque has also become the symbol of the Değirmenaltı Neighborhood.
